Beginning Photography is an introduction to the basic technical and visual elements of black and white photography. Students learn how to use a 35mm cameras, process black and white film, and TRADITIONAL darkroom printing methods. Students are also introduced to toning, alternative printing techniques, and scanning NEGATIVES for digital editing.
Students are asked to complete weekly themed smartphone ASSIGNMENTS and post to class instagram account. This activity encourages students to examine their surroundings LOOKING FOR STRONG COMPOSITIONAL ELEMENTS thats worth capturing.
